Camps Bay
Camps Bay is situated behind Table Mountain, between the Twelve Apostles and Lion's Head.
Its long beaches, lined with palm trees, make it one of the most popuar subburbs in Cape Town. It has an extensive selection of holiday accommodation Villas, apartments B & B and luxuory hotels, all offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountain. Camps Bay beach is ideal for sun bathing, walking or taking a dip into the Atlantic ocean ( if you can brave the cool waters.. ).
Tips
During the Tourist Season, one will find the beach crowded with people, however if you are staying in one of the accommodation offerred in Camps Bay, then more than likely you will find that the beach is within walking distance.
If you are after somewhere to sip on cocktails, or have a few drinks and enjoy the sunset, or party on later into the night, there are plenty of trendy bars to choose from.
To See
If a bit of Culture is what you are after, then head for The Theatre On The Bay for a variety of local and international drama, comedy, cabaret and music show.
For those who are more active, Camps Bay offers a number of mountain hikes to either the top of Lion's Head and Table Mountain or an easy stroll along the contour path half way up
